You can build a website for your target market, offer what that market is looking for, talk about benefits and promote the site. But you can't stop there. Once you've put all those puzzle pieces into place, the traffic and sales will follow.

But that's not the end of the story. That will get you initial sales and traffic, but it won't keep people around. As a matter of fact, if you don't follow through, you could end up doing your business more damage than if you'd skipped this entire article and played Minecraft instead.

Once you have people on your site and buying, the real work starts. You need to answer questions, fix problems and smooth ruffled feathers. In business, as in life, you're not going to be able to please everyone. But if you provide great customer service, you can prevent many issues and deal effectively with the rest.

If you can impress even the most cynical person who needs your product or service with your customer service, you'll have an invaluable advocate.
